Raise Workforce has partnered with one of North America's leaders in beverage manufacturing that is looking for an expert in research and development to join their team right away. The chosen candidate will be responsible for developing new beverages including organic, nutrient enhanced, drinks, cocktails, teas, new age beverages and sauces, as well as, line extensions. Duties And Responsibilities


  • New Product Development: Develops new juices, drinks, cocktails, teas, new age beverages and sauces as well as line extensions.
  • Reformulate current products
  • Coordinate directly with purchasing on sourcing ingredients. Recommending new suppliers, getting required documentation from suppliers. Following up with suppliers on quality issues.
  • Assist other Food Scientists in development and preparation of bases and performs basic lab analysis
  • Perform lab analysis, sensory analysis and conducts market product evaluation. Set ingredient product specifications and prepares final product formulations for testing and approval.
  • Learn and master product development process and technology
  • Manage development, formulation, and duplication of new products from conception to shelf.
  • Responsible for SQF compliance for R&D team.
  • Responsible for Ingredient specification review and approval in Trace Gains.
  • Produce samples based on formulas developed by Food Scientists for sales samples and processing standards
  • Write and complete detailed accurate reports on analyses, experiments, projects and final product. Document formula calculations, process and ingredient requirements.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving scientist’s product specifications including NFL 2018 for release to Regulatory Affairs Department.
  • Perform basic organizational / administrative tasks such as processing standards management, maintaining laboratory inventory, and processing guide changes
  • Evaluate and test new ingredients
  • Maintain formula records in QAD. Attend new product startups in the plant locations.


Qualifications


  • Excellent time management skills
  • Master’s Degree in related discipline is a plus
  • Flavor experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Minimum 5-10 years prior experience in a laboratory environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology or Chemistry (or related discipline)
  • Detailed oriented and can multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Eagerness to learn
