Job description
The Laboratory for Cell Engineering and Cell-based Therapeutics in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Rutgers University in collaboration with Cancer Institute of New Jersey is seeking a Research Scientist for a full-time appointment in Piscataway, New Jersey.
Project Description: We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to work on research projects funded by the US National Cancer Institute (NCI). The research projects are focused on the development of cell-based therapeutic systems using genetically engineered mesenchymal stem cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and bispecific antibodies (BiKEs) for cancer chemoimmunotherapy.
The stem cell-based therapeutic system is designed for targeted chemoimmunotherapy of cancer. The natural killer cell-based therapeutic system in combination with our newly developed BiKE technology is designed for antibody dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC).

Qualifications:
The candidate must have a PhD in Cell Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, or related field. At least 3 years of experience with cell engineering (e.g., mesenchymal stem cells, NK cell, etc.), molecular and cellular biology techniques, and stable cell production using viral, non-viral (e.g. PiggyBac) systems is a must. Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 and animal work (mice) is highly desired. Fluency in speaking and writing English is required. Candidate must have desire to learn new techniques, write manuscripts/reports/protocols, and be able to work independently. The applicant is expected to multitask and interested in contributing to ongoing projects in the lab.
Salary: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
