Fleet Assistant - Part-Time

The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) - Fleet Services Division has an immediate opening for a part-time, hard-working and capable Fleet Assistant. This position pays $15.00-17.00 hourly.

Duties Include But Not Limited To

• Assist customers located on Capitol Complex with lockouts and jump starts.
• Transport motor pool and agency-owned vehicles for maintenance to be performed at auto shops around the Des Moines Metro area.
• Fuel and prepare new vehicles.
• Washing new and used vehicle interiors and exteriors by performing tasks such as vacuuming, washing windows, cleaning tire sidewalls, and applying cleaning fluids.
• Provide vehicle upkeep such as airing up tires, filling washer fluid, checking battery voltage, etc.

This position will work closely with the Fleet Secretary for direction. The position shift is flexible with 15-20 hours per week.

This is a non-merit position with the Department of Administrative Services (DAS). Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

No specific education or experience is required.

Additional Qualification Requirements

Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
