Role: Financial Data Analyst
Location: Remote (Washington, DC | New York, NY | Los Angeles, CA)
Duration: Full-time
We are looking for a driven, ambitious, and experienced Financial Data Analyst to support a financially-focused agency ingest corporate data and analyze it effectively for anomalies in trading data.This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has experience in working with financial data and appreciates the value of the enforcement mission.
What you will be doing
- Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Prior experience and proven interest in the financial services industry either working for an asset management firm or supporting a capital markets compliance team
- Working with large data extracts which may need transformation and manipulation prior to analysis
- Proficiency with MS Excel and Bloomberg Terminal
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with the different types of securities that the funds trade and how trading is conducted
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to use multiple financial toolkits for data analysis
- Position will require a Public Trust background investigation
- What you need to be considered for this role (required)
- Ability to analyze and make sense of complex information
- 3+ years of related work experience
- U.S. Citizenship required (dual nationals not eligible)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Financial Engineering or related field
- Performing data analysis to identify potential trading violations and issues
What makes you stand out from the crowd (desired)
- Experience in Securities Operations field
- Master’s Degree in Financial Engineering or any of the above areas
- Strong understanding of technology, including databases, SQL, API, and Python
