Job Summary


Leads all financial processes for Central Engineering. Responsible for overseeing the development and integrity of financial activities and systems for Engineering. Serves as the business partner to the Central Engineering VP’s and also partners with Business Unit Engineering VPs as needed to provide leadership to ensure key goals are met.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Manage direct reports and provide a positive working environment leading to a successful career. Establish clear goals that provide a challenge for the employee and drive improvements.
  • Compilation, review and presentation of budget, forecast and actual financial statements.
  • Develop and drive the strategy for Engineering financial systems.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations personnel, understanding the various aspects of the business and the impact change has on financial performance.
  • Coordinate documentation and review of processes for Sarbanes/Oxley section 404 requirements relating to Operations.
  • Create effective tools to analyze and help track cost reduction activities, acquisition integrations and capacity expansion projects.
  • Responsible for on-going review and audit of financial systems and activities to ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Direct and own financial strategy for Central Engineering in partnership with Business Unit Engineering support.
  • Participates and drives standardization of key business processes and development of business plans including strategic financial planning, cash flow, ROI, Capital and Operating expenditures.
  • Actively participates in Engineering staff and provides direction, including prioritization and investment return analysis.
  • Miscellaneous projects and ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Partners with EVP of Global Ops, Engineering and Lean to drive Gross Profitability to meet corporate goals.


Skills & Knowledge


  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships in a matrix environment with multiple customers and evaluators.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives at once.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and executive leadership skills; strong business acumen.
  • 10+ years’ experience in finance/accounting positions of growing responsibility required.
  • Superior management skills: ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
  • Detail oriented, possess strong analytical skills and strong knowledge of Excel financial modeling.
  • Experience communicating, reporting and influencing executive leadership in a strategic partnership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success at partnering with, leading and influencing multiple teams responsible for complex operations. This includes ability to analyze complex and voluminous data and turn it into actionable information and plans.
  • Proven success in driving change and leading process improvement within finance and business support systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance is required, a CPA, CMA, and MBA is highly preferred.


WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Domestic and international travel may be required, but not to exceed 10%
  • Position requires travel to the Corporate office (Medina, MN) as needed
