Job Description

The Field Trainer will facilitate classroom and technology-based training programs for property personnel in order to improve Red Roof Sales, Profitability, Service, Quality, and Operations Performance. The position will support all Red Roof properties (Red Roof Inn, Red Roof PLUS, Hometowne Studios, The Red Collection, and HomeTown Inn). The Field Trainer will work with assigned field management to implement appropriate learning solutions, track learning completions, and monitor learning/performance metrics in the field. This position is a home-based, travel-heavy position.


Duties and Responsibilities


· Facilitates training programs (classroom and technology-based) related to Operations excellence, including but not limited to Service, Sales, Systems (Property Management System), and other operations initiatives.


· Identifies training opportunities within the company and inn operations and recommends appropriate learning solutions to improve brand performance.


· Works with field management to improve inn level training and development of Guest Service Representatives.


· Uses techniques for short and long-term transfer of learning, so learners can adapt to changing work environments.


· Partners with leadership to develop proactive learning solutions.


· Works with corporate training team to develop effective, educational, and engaging curricula.


· When appropriate, assists in delivering Red Advantage (Owner/Operator Training) curriculum and New Owner Orientation.


· When appropriate, assists in mentoring identified field management talent.


· Utilize LMS (RED) to monitor the completion of training programs.


· Practices efficient cost controls by maintaining a budget and expense reporting procedures.


· Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.


· Minimum 3 years of training experience in a training role required.


· Hotel, hospitality, or service experience preferred.


· Instructional design experience a preferred but not required.


· Working knowledge of adult learning theories.


· Must be able to speak with impact; must have experience delivering both classroom and technology-based learning solutions.


· Must be able to relate to a diverse workforce and can effectively influence others throughout the organization.


· Must be able to work independently and leverage relationships to accomplish goals.


· Highly adaptable to change and strong organizational skills are critical.


· Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.


· Creative thinking and being open to new ideas and innovation are strongly preferred.


· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a working knowledge of training software and other computer programs.


· Willingness to work nights/weekends as needed.


· Must be willing to travel up to 90% of the time. Travel may include domestic and international.
