Summary

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the design and implementation of control systems for renewable energy grid applications, with a focus on GE FACTS solutions. Collaborate with the engineering team to develop control algorithms and strategies that optimize the performance and efficiency of energy networks. Configure and program control equipment such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. Perform testing and simulations to validate the functionality and performance of implemented control systems. Participate in troubleshooting and provide technical support related to control systems in the field. Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in the renewable energy and control systems field. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as design engineering, operations, and customer service to ensure project requirements are met. Adhere to company-established safety and quality standards.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field. Previous experience in the design and implementation of control systems, preferably in the renewable energy field. Knowledge of tools and programming languages used in control systems, such as MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++, etc. Familiarity with industrial control equipment such as PLCs, SCADA, HMI, etc. Analytical skills and the ability to effectively troubleshoot technical problems. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment. Quality-oriented mindset and ability to meet established deadlines.

The salary range for this position is 68,000 - 85,000 - 102,000 Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
