The Fabricator/Welder will assist in fabrication, welding and assembling of all forms of steel structures and building repairs.

Fabricator/Welder Responsibilities

• Other duties as assigned by the Foreman and/or the General Superintendent.
• Understanding what “square” is when fabricating and holding tolerances as described on DWG’s title block.
• Comfortable working off campus at a customer’s jobsite as required.
• Comfortable working off hours or OT if needed to complete a project.
• Participates in “safety toolbox meetings.”
• Ability to interpret written directions/specifications.
• Competent in reading measuring tools (tape, scale, angle finder, protractor and square) to 1/16” or 1 mm as DWGs require.
• Assists foreman as directed.
• Competent to perform layout using DWG’s, sketches, and verbal instruction.
• Competent with welding mig/stick and knowledge of general set-up of welding machines
• Familiar with operating forklift/telehandler/overhead crane/metal saw/press brake/iron worker etc.

Experience/Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail.
• Three (3) years’ experience
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Experience in the Fabricator/Welder industry.
• A willingness to further education by attending apprenticeship training or other job skills training offered by the company.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of time.
• Coordinate eye-hand movements with control and precision.
• Use hands and fingers fully; reach for, manipulate, and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
• Climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction).
• Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• May be exposed to loud noises.
• May be exposed to extreme outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity or cold and wet conditions.
• Position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and vibrating machinery.
• May be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
• May be exposed to fumes, dust, or other airborne particles.

Other:

• High school diploma/GED
• Must live within a 30-mile radius of Dallastown, PA.
• Basic first aid training
• 10-Hour OSHA training
• MSHA Part 46 training
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfortable working off hours or OT if needed to complete a project.

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening including a drug test.
