Experienced Tax Preparer Jobs

We are looking for an experienced person to fill our Senior Tax Preparer role! If you have worked in public accounting, we would like you to submit a resume to us. You need to have the qualifications listed below. Equally important to the qualifications is finding someone who is teachable, and not afraid to ask questions. IRS rules and requirements change and keeping up to date is important.

You will be working directly with the client and support staff to complete and solve the client's needs. There is no job too big or small for this position.

$50,000 DOE

• Assist with IRS correspondence our clients receive.
• Keep the clients informed as to the status of their projects.
• Help by explaining things to clients in a way they can understand, and help create a plan of action.
• Hunt down missing information even when the client swears he has already sent it.
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency for the client.
• Help clients with solutions for tax season and, on occasion, IRS issues.
• Know the difference between what the client wants to provide us and what is actually relevant to the return.
• You will average 400 - 500 returns in season and another 400 - 500 returns in off-season.
• Prepare and examine tax and accounting records in order to prepare current-year returns and tax plans for the future.

• 2 years of experience preparing 1065, 1120, 1120S, 1041, and 990 is preferred.
• Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools.
• Detail and deadline-oriented.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 5 years of previous experience preparing individual tax returns is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP.
