Family Service of El Paso, the largest mental health service agency in El Paso, serves clients from nearly every demographic. Over 75% of our clients are low income (by HUD Section 8 guidelines) and 87% of our clients are Hispanic. To serve this population, we constantly strive to ensure our services are affordable, accessible, and culturally competent.
Family Service of El Paso is in search of an Executive Director. As the key management leader of Family Service of El Paso (FSEP), the Executive Director is responsible for developing and overseeing all program activities of the agency in accordance with its stated purpose and within the general policies as formulated by the board of Directors.Other key duties include fundraising and community outreach as FSEP continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity.

Responsibilities
Board Governance: Work with Board in order to fulfill the organization mission
·Responsible for leading FSEP in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors
·Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner. Provide information to the Board regarding changing community needs and, if necessary, to modify agency program and policies accordingly
Program Planning:Keep informed of developments and trends in the agency’s operation and be alert to changing community needs.
·Responsible for developing and maintaining acceptable standard of professional practice in the agency
·Responsible for periodic review, evaluation, and modification of programs to meet community needs
·Responsible for providing opportunities for student training as well as appropriate opportunities for board and other volunteer services.
·To initiate, plan and direct studies which will facilitate fuller understanding and interpretation of present programs and provide information for formulating future agency program/plans.
Financial Performance and sustainability:Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
·Responsible for fundraising and developing other revenues necessary to support FSEP’s mission
·Responsible for the fiscal integrity of FSEP, to include ensuring that a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization are submitted to the Board.
·Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with Board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach.
·Responsible for implementation of FSEP’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission.
·Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that FSEP can successfully fulfill it mission into the future
·Responsible for the enhancement of FSEP’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, educational, civic, and private organizations.
Organization operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
·Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
·Responsible for providing opportunities for staff participation in the formulation of agency policies and procedures, including personnel practices.
·Responsible for providing a staff development program which insures maximum skill of all personnel.
·Responsible for providing the setting for creative work.
·Responsible for effective administration of FSEP operations and programs in such a manner as to insure maximum benefits to the client and the community.
·Responsible for signing all agreements and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.
Actual Job Responsibilities
1.Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decision, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the organization.
2.Supervise, collaborate with staff
3.Strategic planning and implementation
4.Planning and operation of annual budget
5.Serve as FSEP’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the general public.
6.Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance FSEP’s mission. Participate in local, regional, and national committees and activities of relevance to the family service field of practice.
7.Engage in fundraising and developing other revenues.
8.Oversee marketing and other communications efforts.
9.Oversee organization Board and committee meetings.
10.Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the agency.
11.Review and approve contracts for services
12.Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
Qualifications
·Master’s degree in social work or related field.
·Certified as CSW/ACP or state license as a Licensed Professional Counselor preferred.
·Five or more years senior nonprofit management experience
·Clarity of expression in presenting casework concepts as shown in supervisory conferences, staff meetings and psychiatric consultation.
·Experience and skill in working with Board of Directors.
·High level strategic thinking and planning.Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, and donors.
·Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
·History of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results
·Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills an understanding of the funding community
·Previous success in establishing relations with individuals and organizations including funders, partner agencies and volunteers
·Solid organizational abilities, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting
·Strong written and oral communication skills
·Strong public speaking ability
·Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience
