Job Description
New York State Center for Assisted Living


The New York State Center for Assisted Living (“NYSCAL”), the assisted living division of the New York State Health Facilities Association (“NYSHFA”), a leading statewide professional and membership driven association located in Albany, NY is seeking an Executive Director. NYSHFA|NYSCAL is dedicated to assisting post-acute, assisted living and long-term care providers in achieving excellence through leadership, professional development and active involvement in the shaping of public policy.


The Executive Director of NYSCAL will report directly to the President & CEO of NYSHFA.


Responsibilities


  • Assist in the development of grants with NYSHFA|NYSCAL staff specific to the needs of the State’s assisted living industry and oversee program implementation for all AL grant programs.
  • Provide expert level communication to membership and other stakeholders via written or oral means.
  • Develop and operationalize the NYSCAL membership marketing, growth and development program.
  • Work with the NYSHFA President & CEO and Director of Government Relations in developing and shaping the NYSCAL policy agenda.
  • Develop educational programming together with NYSHFA|NYSCAL staff tailored to the needs of the assisted living profession.
  • Provide the strategic, financial and operational leadership necessary to maintain and build the membership base for NYSCAL.
  • Work directly with the NYSCAL Board of Directors.
  • Maintain contacts to keep abreast of emerging issues of significance to NYSCAL and its members.
  • Develop an annual plan and budget in coordination with the NYSHFA President & CEO, CFO and NYSCAL Board of Directors.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have


  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred)
  • 5 - 10 years of leadership experience in an Assisted Living setting
