Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; and one (1) year experience in Public Relations, Marketing, event planning or a related area; or a year for year interchange of indicated education and experience equal to the minimum qualifications .
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.
Incumbent in this class performs duties related to coordinating, organizing, and managing special events. Responsibilities include scheduling and reserving facilities, placing work orders, developing event plans, and working with others to successfully plan and execute a variety of meetings and events.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Incumbent plans, coordinates, and executes events, meetings and other functions. Incumbent in this class attends off-site meetings and events outside of regular working hours as required.
Coordinates, organizes, and executes plans for meetings and special events. Coordinates event logistics and setup/breakdown. Coordinates with vendors. Solves problems; works with coworkers for public relations and outreach activities and events for County departments upon request.
Conducts, schedules, and coordinates tours of Fulton County Government facilities and agencies..
Principles and practices of customer service; principles and practices of meeting and event planning; principles and practices of budget development; Principles and practices of project management; marketing concepts and techniques; space allocation practices; event management software; Graphics and presentation software; Correct grammar, spelling, composition, and English language usage; Personal computers and related software.
Providing effective customer service; Organizing and prioritizing work; Developing and managing budgets; Resolving problems; Preparing and presenting oral and written communications/reports; Developing concepts related to special events; Planning, designing, and arranging event areas, visual displays, and exhibits; Speaking in public and conducting effective presentations; Coordinating multiple projects simultaneously; Planning special events.
Operating personal computers, including spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation, event registration, and other related software; Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other County personnel, officials, and the general public; Communication and interpersonal techniques as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Additional Functions:
May take photos of County programs and special events. Performs other related duties as required.

Includes exercising discretion in determining data classification, and in referencing such analysis to established standards for the purpose of recognizing actual or probable interactive effects and relationships.
Human Interaction: Requires the ability to work with and apply principles of persuasion and/or influence over others to coordinate programs or activities of a project, and resolve typical problems associated with the responsibilities of the job.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, advisory and/or design data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. May include counting, recording of counts, and basic measuring.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of influence systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership, and to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to resolve problems.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
