This job contributes to REI’s success by leading the planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing medium to large moderately complex business and technology projects, using a structured project management methodology. Projects have both a business and a technology focus. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.
  • Ensures project quality and success through management of project action items, including managing risks and issues, the governance and decision making process, initiating change requests, meeting schedule milestones, resource management, and financial planning and control.
  • Identifies and provides recommendations for project management process improvements.
  • Organizes and directs all aspects of medium to large projects utilizing REI’s project management methodology. As part of the ERP Program Management Team, creates and manages the project plan and coordination across cross divisional business teams for SAP security, testing and cut-over activities, in support of the broader ERP program. Ensures dependencies are identified and incorporated into the program plan and risks are effectively managed.
  • Ensures that overall project deliverables are completed, including project charter, project plan, project schedule, requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, policies and procedures, new standards, contracts, risks and issues lists.
  • Identifies, evaluates and manages cross-project interdependencies.
  • Manages the progress of the project work tracks and communicates the project status to management and stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Plans the project schedule in detail, develops project budget, organizes the project team, and works with resource managers to acquire and schedule resources.
  • Identifies and provides recommendations for project management process improvements.

  • 2+ years experience building and leading project teams.
  • Builds knowledge of business within assigned domain.
  • 2+ years experience managing small to medium projects with both a business and a technology focus .
  • Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI.
  • Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work.
  • Acts upon opportunities and involves and influences others in the accomplishment of worthwhile organizational goals.
  • Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.
  • Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals.
  • Familiarity with the project scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. Communicates and reinforces roles and responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or related field, or equivalent training and experience preferred
  • Selects appropriate leadership approach, depending on project circumstances and team.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors.

The pay for this role is: $83700 - $134000 per year .
