Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role you will support our drive for world class EHS performance for the G&A organization. The manager will report to the Director EHS and will be located at the Amgen Capability Center in Tampa, FL. The successful candidate will lead the EHS programs, initiatives and culture for all global G&A affiliates as well as provide EHS support to the G&A remote workers.

The ideal candidate will have strong leaderships skills and a broad understanding of EHS disciplines. The candidate will support office safety related EHS programs and assist global staff with occupational health and safety issues and concerns. The manager will become the office safety subject matter expert for the G&A organization and will work closely with Global EHS subject matter experts to deliver the best results. Experience is required in the following disciplines:

• Ergonomics
• Environmental Compliance and Sustainability
• Injury prevention and Incident Management
• Slip/Trip and Falls
• Leading and influencing teams
• Safety Culture
• Fire life safety and evacuation

Primary responsibilities include:

Program Support for all G&A Affiliates:

• Provide EHSS training to all G&A personal, including, staff on-boarding, ergonomics, evacuation, workplace inspection, situational awareness
• Support sustainability efforts including messaging across the G&A organization
• Lead the investigation of all workplace incidents to determine root cause and develop actions to prevent reoccurrence
• Lead EHS Communications including awareness campaigns and initiatives
• Assist with completion and submission of environmental permits and reports
• Lead the ergonomics program across the G&A function focused on workplace ergonomics and remote work
• Lead the implementation of EHS programs and initiatives
• Analyze and communicate safety performance to the leadership teams of all the G&A offices

Client Support for all G&A Affiliates:

• Partner with all G&A offices to drive premier EHSS performance
• Ensure all hazards are identified and risks are proactively assessed
• Ensure all changes with potential EHS impact are assessed and controls are established prior to implementation
• Coordinate regular inspections of the work areas
• Lead efforts to establish a strong safety culture program

Liaisons:

• Dotted line to Tampa ACC General Manager
• Accountable to Global EHS Director
• Frequently interact with Global EHS Team

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of EHS or directly related experience
• Doctorate degree OR
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of EHS or directly related experience OR
• Associate’s degree and 10 years of EHS or directly related experience Or
• Master’s degree and 3years of EHS or directly related experience OR

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of EHS regulations as they pertain to office-based operations
• Strong communication and presentation skills, committed, self-starting, program development and project management.
• Project Management experience
• Proficient in Microsoft suite programs and data management
• Trained ergonomist

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $106,329-$134,118.
