SUMMARY

Responsible for diagnosing malfunctioning equipment and ensuring equipment remains safe and operational.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctioning equipment, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
• Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.

• Install new or refurbished equipment for manufacturing or production plants. Perform run tests to ensure that new machinery is ready operational.
• Repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.

• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools.

• Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
• Create and manage reports pertaining to the repair and maintenance of industrial machines.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Practice safe work habits at all times.

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
• Ability to problem solve using critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and written.
• Ability to read and interpret operating manuals/directions.
• Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts.
• Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to operate both power and manual hand tools.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to write routine reports.
• May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator license and/or certification.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.

Working knowledge of product layouts and production specifications

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. Frequently required to use hands tools, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using the buddy system.
