Our People & Places Solutions business – reinforces our drive to improve the lives of people everywhere and epitomizes the "why" of what we do – the tremendous positive impact and value our solutions bring to our communities and society as a whole. From facilities delivering life-saving therapies and ensuring clean water to enabling the connection of people through all modes of transportation and providing access to technology – we're integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build the smart environments of tomorrow.
Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed – today and into tomorrow.
Your Impact:
At Jacobs, we don’t settle – always looking beyond to raise the bar and deliver with excellence. We apply our expertise and knowledge as we look into the future with great optimism and focus. We don’t settle until we give our best and know that we’re making a difference. A California location is preferred, however with the right experience, the working location can be open to any office or location with remote work and travel nationally to site.
As a Landscape Architect or Designer in the California region, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with Team Leaders, Project Managers, and national design teams on complex and novel assignments requiring planning, design, and innovative landscape architectural solutions. This role will blend technical and administrative activities with multiple design teams of Architects, Engineers, other allied professionals and/or sub-consultants and contractors that are in multiple locations across the US.
Key tasks include: Research, design, and planning on a variety of site planning, landscape architecture and master planning projects (i.e. campus plans, streetscapes, land use & master plans, and site design) for private and public clients with a focus on regenerative, performance landscapes within the built environment.
Bring your creative and technical skills to: Plan project layouts, actively participate in design workshops, integrate architecture and planning elements (i.e. buildings and urban designs) into a unified design for client review and approval, prepare scale drawings and construction documents, along with periodic work during construction phase to monitor and insure construction complies with the architectural and/or planning plans provided.
Working together, we’ll help you grow and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future – big and small, global and local.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, interpret, and present data in creative ways to team members and clients
- Demonstrated ability to communicate designs quickly and effectively through a balance of hand sketches, computer generated graphics, and presentation renderings
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture
- Demonstrated 1-3 years’ experience as a landscape architect and/or landscape designer in professional site design
- Experience working in: GIS (ESRI v 9/10), CAD (AutoCAD/Civil 3D, with MicroStation a plus), Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, Lumion/Twinmotion, Mural, and MS Office (including Power Point)
Ideally You'll Also Have:
- Preferably located local to CA
- Experience with Land F/X and BIM (Revit)
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams including ecologists
- Experience in or an eagerness to learn the use of biomimicry in design solutions
Typical salary range for this position is $60,200 to $94,100 and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
