Technical Landscape Architect/Designer – Los Angeles

AECOM Los Angeles is looking to grow our award-winning landscape architecture studio with a technical landscape architect/designer. This is an opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary practice focused on high-performing landscapes that tackle climate change, interconnectivity and mobility, smart growth, ecological systems, and natural resources. Our studio designs a broad range of urban public realm projects including streetscapes, parks, ecological restoration, and green infrastructure. We are looking for a passionate designer who is energized by a collaborative design process that engages colleagues, clients, and the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings and specifications as required.
• Under the direction of the Supervising Landscape Architect, independently performing advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
• Coordinating with team members, other disciplines, and other departments participating on assigned projects.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
• Managing and overseeing the design process from concept through construction.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Landscape Architecture degree (BLA/BSLA/MLA) from an LAAB accredited program + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in 3D modeling (Rhino3D)
• Familiarity with Southern California and/or Pacific Northwest native and climate-appropriate plant communities
• Proven landscape construction / contract administration experience
• Demonstrable construction documentation and project leadership experience
• Ability to be proactive, confident, and self-motivated with strong leadership qualities
• Excellent graphic, verbal, and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences including clients, communities, and peers
• Knowledge of technical detailed design and construction methods and practices
• Experience with advanced modeling and analysis software (e.g. Revit, Grasshopper3D, ArcGIS)
• A commitment to design excellence and a passion for building a better world.
• High degree of proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite, hand drawing
• Licensed Landscape Architect / CLARB Certification
• LEED AP, SITES AP, or ENV SP credentials
• Ability to integrate seamlessly into both landscape architecture and multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and self-edit work
• 5 - 7+ years of professional Landscape Architecture experience
• Knowledge of sustainability principles, methods, and practices

Additional Information

• Sponsorship is available for this role.
• Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $71,000 - $98,000.
