The PolicyLink Team within Life and Annuity Systems is seeking a Systems Analyst Trainee for our Galveston, TX location.

The successful Systems Analyst displays the ability and aptitude to learn the complex inner workings of a large policy administration system, and based on the provided business requirements, designs a creative, effective, and efficient solution within the system. The Systems Analyst then translates that design into a documented technical specification that is appropriate for all audiences: a programmer can code from the specification, and a business user can understand the changes to anticipate within the system.

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Become skilled at the following:

• Completing assignments that extend to new technologies and business processes with little assistance from management
• Collaborating with team members when designing solutions
• Applying technical concepts and skills with knowledge of the company’s internal policies and procedures to research system functionality and to solve moderate-to-complex analysis and design problems in creative and effective ways
• Presenting documentation, design solutions, and research findings in a manner that is clear, accurate and easily understood by the intended audience.
• Producing high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience
• Following assignments through to completion
• Providing optimal service to all internal and external customers
• Work occasional night and weekend hours to meet target dates

Qualifications:

• Experience in these areas is a plus:
  • Life insurance or annuity knowledge
  • Application design experience in a life insurance or annuity policy administration system
  • Application developer experience
