Java Developer - Entry Level

What does a successful Java Developer do at Fiserv?

Fiserv is a world-class data and analytics organization delivering the next generation of powerful data insights and decisioning solutions to financial institutions, fintech, consumer/business credit bureaus, government agencies and merchants. As a successful Java Developer, you will have the ability to develop enterprise, full lifecycle solutions using Java, Linux and relational databases.

What you will do:

• Analyze, design, program, debug, test and modify software enhancements and/or new products for application area
• Identify and recommend changes in software applications and interfaces, processes, and procedures
• Analyze business and functional requirements to understand system and operational impacts
• Provide the necessary technical expertise to the Product Owner, Application Owner, and Program Manager to plan and assign work (stories and tasks) to associates
• Actively participate as a key member of the Agile Team, providing the necessary technical expertise and guidance to the team members, primarily responsible for delivering best-in-class technical solutions

What you will need to have:

• Experience refining the user stories and implementing complex business rules into the application/product as prioritized for delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize business needs, analyze requests, recommend solid technical solutions, and lead in delivering the solution.
• 0-5 years of experienced in upgrading old technology stacks to transition to leading technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns, conduct code reviews, test plan reviews with other Engineers to create high-quality, maintainable software.

What would be great to have:

• 0-5 years of experienced in upgrading old technology stacks to transition to leading technologies.
• Experience refining the user stories and implementing complex business rules into the application/product as prioritized for delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize business needs, analyze requests, recommend solid technical solutions, and lead in delivering the solution.
• Experience in the finance or debit/credit cards domain
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in team design session
• Experience in technical design writing and documentation

This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
