.Net Developer Jobs

The .Net Developer (Programmer III) reports to a Senior Software Development Manager within Health and Human Service Commissions (HHSC) Information Technology (IT). This position applies their expertise and technical skills in the development and testing of a wide range of client and agency-specific web-based applications that include complex business rules / logic. Work is performed in an Agile environment and creativity is encouraged.

Essential Job Functions:
Develops and maintains web-based .NET applications utilizing Microsoft MVC and SQL Server which include complex business logic in OLTP and OLAP environments. (50%)

Adherence to industry standard definition of “done” which includes unit, automated and user acceptance testing. (30%)

Reformulating existing code to ensure adherence to stipulated guidelines. (10%)

Provide technical oversight and mentorship to Junior team-members. (10%)

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
5+ years of C# .NET development experience up to the latest .NET frameworks.
5+ years of experience Microsoft SQL Server.
Knowledge of Service-based integrations of systems – (RESTful services or Similar).
Knowledge of Asynchronous Messaging – (MQ-series or Similar).
Knowledge of hyper-text markup language (HTML).
Knowledge of JQuery / JavaScript development.
Skill in the use of .NET MVC.
Skill in the use C#.
Skill in analytical thinking and problem-solving.
Ability to use of SQL Server.
Ability to use software configuration / source code control tools
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Ability to maintain accurate and timely tracking of time spent working on projects as well the ability to accurately estimated changes or enhancements.

Registration or Licensure Requirements:

Initial Selection Criteria:
Experience developing .Net Enterprise, Web interface applications
Experience using SQL Server.
Experience with multi-tier application development.
Experience with DevOps or Team Foundation Server.
Sound Knowledge of unit testing methodologies and frameworks.
Good command of written and spoken English.
