Your Role and Responsibilities

You will participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle, such as design, code implementation, testing, and support. You will work to create software that is of high quality and meets our clients' needs. You will also have the opportunity to become a contributor within Open Source communities across multiple disciplines.

As an Entry Level Backend Developer, you will:
- Create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that are clean, well-documented, and easy to use.
- Have an understanding of, or experience with, Agile development methodology.
- Create and configure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. Design and implement large scale systems and Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) that enable continuous delivery.
- Knowledge working with client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development, and using databases.
- Design and code servers, services, applications, and databases that are reusable, scalable, and meet critical architecture goals.
Who You Are:
- Have a basic understanding of software development and programming languages.
- Thrive on collaboration, working side by side with people of all backgrounds and disciplines, and you have very strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have the ability to learn new skills quickly and use the skills efficiently.
- Great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing, and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.
- Highly motivated and have a passion for creating and supporting great products.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Must have basic knowledge in one or more of the following technology areas: C++, C, Java, Ruby, Python, Perl, SQL
- Basic knowledge of operating systems and how they work (i.e. Operating systems courses); Container technologies; Internet Services; and/or Managed Services
- Familiarity with APIs
- Knowledge working with servers, applications and databases
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Must have 1 year experience in one or more of the following technology areas: C++, C, Java, Ruby, Python, Perl, SQL
- Must have 1 year experience with APIs
- One or more internships or co-op experience

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
