Position Overview

Cloud Sales Engineers at SingleStore are solving some of the most cutting-edge technical challenges in today’s data-driven world. When customers evaluate SingleStore, Sales Engineers are their trusted technical experts who help evaluate, identify, and demonstrate how SingleStore can solve their data-intensive challenges in the cloud. As key contributors to our sales organization, Sales Engineers add tremendous value to the customer journey and directly impact company growth and revenue.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying the technical requirements necessary to deliver immediate value to our prospects in direct partnership with the commercial sales team. You will do this by leveraging your technical skill set and business acumen to understand complex solutions and create high-quality technical assets that resonate with our customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Proofs of Concept (POCs) with prospective customers
• Serve as the customer’s trusted advisor and liaison to internal teams at SingleStore such as product and engineering
• Partner with Account Executives to close new business (logos), expand existing accounts and accelerate the growth of SingleStore
• Understand cloud database architecture and various integration points with application development frameworks and analytics tools
• Drive the technical evaluation stage of the sales cycle, acting as the technical lead/subject matter expert (query tuning, load testing, etc.)

Requirements

• Ability to multi-task and keep track of on-going projects/activities
• Hands-on expertise with SQL, Kafka, AWS S3
• Familiarity and experience with data concepts and workflow such as ETL, streaming, warehousing, analytics, etc.
• Experience successfully selling software, preferably a database, distributed system, or data analytics software
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Outstanding skills presenting to both technical and executive audiences using slides and demos
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical field
• 2+ years of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role

Strongly Preferred

• Language: English required
• Application Development experience (Python, .NET, Java, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with large-scale database technology, preferably cloud-native (e.g. Snowflake, Google Big Query, Aurora, Redshift).
• Experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Javascript
• Experience with selling to technical audiences (developers, architects, engineers)
