Engineering Technician– Reliability & Test

This position will work as a member of Tesla’s Engineering Test Team to support engineering fleet vehicle maintenance & repairs. The primary objective of this role is to maintain and assure safe and reliable performance of engineering vehicles. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in automotive maintenance and testing.
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve mechanical & electrical issues discovered. Provide detailed written & verbal updates to key stake holders
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Thorough documentation all work performed on vehicles through internal software database (JIRA)
• Order necessary parts and consumables required to perform repairs & retrofits
• Perform retrofits / repairs on engineering test vehicles

Requirements

• Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
• Experience as an Engineering Technician or 3+ years as an Automotive Service Technician.
• 2 year technical/automotive degree preferred, but not required.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles.
• Experience with MS office tools (Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
• Analytical problem-solving skills & root cause analysis.
• Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required.
• Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
