Job Summary:

Provide engineering and project management expertise in the design, modification, construction and start-up of capital projects for Sensient Natural Ingredients LLC. Assist other departments in trouble-shooting equipment and process problems. Coordinate the work of outside engineering firms or contractors working on Sensient Natural Ingredient projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and specify installation requirements for new processes or modifications to existing processes.
• Assist in the identification and justification of capital requirements.
• Develop, engineer, implement and monitor all aspects of projects.
• Assist plant personnel in training and start-up of completed systems.
• Perform preliminary engineering for the various departments by concepting solutions and designing modifications to existing buildings, equipment, and processes. This includes equipment sizing, equipment arrangements and alternates, control systems, and equipment cost estimates and quotes.
• Manage various trades during projects, as assigned, to insure proper building construction and installation of equipment occurs on schedule.
• Develop scope and parameters for project design and implementation.
• Use drafting tools to design specialty Ag and industrial related equipment.
• Support the effort to standardize equipment and construction methods where feasible throughout Sensient Natural Ingredients.
• Assume project manager responsibilities, when assigned, for capital projects.
• Coordinate development, engineering, procurement and installation timelines.
• Submit documentation; suggest alternative solutions, and follow-up as required.

Education & Experience:

• General understanding of basic engineering technologies and expertise in core technologies applicable to business unit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related decipline.
• Working knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Working knowledge of drafting tools such as AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD Inventor.

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

• Periodical exposure to laboratory and manufacturing plant conditions.
• Work is in a professional office environment.

The Sensient Natural Ingredients group is part of Sensient Flavors & Fragrances Group and is one of the largest producers and distributors of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Turlock, California.

The salary range for this position is $55,275 - $92,125 USD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
