Job Description
Do you want to advance the future of collaborative mission autonomy and work with colleagues who are at the forefront of bringing cutting-edge technology to reality? As a member of the growing EpiSci team, you will immediately have an impact on realizing our vision for a secure, autonomous future.

EpiSci is a high growth innovation company that develops next generation mission autonomy technologies for defense, aerospace, and commercial applications. We use the latest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, wireless communications, and digital signal processing to solve our nation’s toughest national security issues. Our Tactical AI technology is powerful, reliable, and quickly adaptable to emerging missions and challenges - from building high-performance AI pilots for F-22 and F-16 aircraft on DARPA’s Air Combat Evolution program, developing advanced wireless tactical communication systems for first responders, and powering autonomous UAV swarms with sensor fusion.

As an Autonomy Engineer at EpiSci, you will be part of a dynamic team designing & implementing architectures and systems for a range of Tactical AI applications. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute novel, hybrid autonomous algorithms for a range of commercial and defense applications, the responsibility to craft high-quality systems for our warfighters and first responders, and the challenge and reward of fielding systems that perform for problems that matter.

We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply

  • Experience with state-of-the-art algorithm development in at least one of the following areas: real-time locomotion planning, constraint optimization, efficient trajectory generation, vehicle dynamics modeling, and/or SLAM
  • Passion for solving complex problems with little supervision in a fast-moving team
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams
  • Familiarity with GitLab, Docker and containerized development environments, and Linux-based operating systems
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science/related engineering field
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working projects related to national security for one or more government agencies
  • Familiarity with software-in-the-loop (SIL), computer-in-the-loop (CIL), and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) development and testing
  • Proficiency with autonomy software tools or simulators such as ROS, AirSim, AFSIM, NGTS, JSE, PX4/MAVLink, QGC, and/or TAK
  • Current SECRET security clearance
  • Experience with modern control theory techniques
