About Our Job
The Denver Sheriff Department (DSD) is the largest Sheriff Department agency in the state of Colorado and is comprised of many divisions and diverse operations with over 1000 uniformed and non-uniformed staff members. These operations include two separate jails, security for the District and County court systems, state inmate transportation, extradition duties, fugitive and K-9 units and security at Denver Health Medical Center. The Denver Sheriff Department is seeking an Employee Wellness Coordinator to join our Employee Outreach Programs team! This role manages the suite of Employee Outreach Programs by providing proactive assistance, resources, referrals, and information to department staff. This position is part of the overall DSD Wellness team and supports the proactive and early outreach and intervention resources.

The Employee Wellness Coordinator will also play a key role with providing technological assistance in the form of data acquisition, storage, tracking and analyzation to help better understand trends, metrics, areas of improvement and effectiveness of programs.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for the health, wellness and wellbeing of the DSD and their families. This person must love to work with people, have a level of confidentiality and situational awareness and be a keen learner.
Job Duties Include but are not limited to:
  • Plan and assist in the implementation of new methods, policies, processes, and procedures. Provide technical assistance to DSD employees and perform any necessary follow up to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Cultivate, foster, and maintain positive relationships with the supervisors, employees and other stakeholders to gain their trust, cooperation and support.
  • Responding to requests for assistance, resources, information or follow ups on submitted requests.
  • Conduct research and analysis on specific operational and administrative issues and confer with supervisors or leadership
  • Prepare written reports and present findings that summarize the research, analysis, recommendations, implementation, strategies, trends, employee feedback and program effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Research, collect and compile information from various sources and analyze collected data to help explore possible alternatives, solutions, and feasibility of recommended changes
  • Maintain contact and access information for vetted comprehensive referral list. Research and update the referral list on a periodic basis. Work in concert with the DSD and Department of Safety (DOS) Wellness team regarding available and needed resources for inclusion on referral list.
  • Develop recommendations for new, or improved work processes, policies, procedures, practices, and methods.
About You

  • Proficient with the MS Office suite
  • Be a task-oriented self- starter, who can work with little supervision
  • Be technologically savvy and have a willingness to learn new skills
  • Have good oral and written communication skills and the ability to connect with people
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate outcomes to the Wellness Coordinator

  • Licensure & Certification: None.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of professional administrative and analytical experience which must have included analyzing management problems and recommending solutions.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
