Job Description
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Physical
  • Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Distinguish temperatures by proximity. Operates a computer, copier, and varied presentation equipment. Lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling up to 30 lbs. Continuous sitting and walking.
  • Two to three years’ experience in employee safety required. Having this experience in the healthcare industry is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • JOB SUMMARY
  • This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information.
  • Provides leadership and guidance on employee safety initiatives. Responsible for the collection and analysis of workers compensation data to project future educational and equipment needs. Coordinates the process of treatment for the injured worker, corresponds with the treatment provider and insurance company and analyzes the cause of the injury and makes recommendations for improvements. Conducts safety audits throughout the organization. Project leader for special projects as assigned, and coordinates special functions within the organization as they relate to Human Resources. This position is required to utilize independent judgment.
