Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role is responsible for providing Tier 2 level services to the Employee Services team. Reviews written and final corrective actions, writes and presents reports to appropriate parties. Assists in the implementation of policies in the field. Provide counsel and consultations to supervisors, managers and employees regarding Employee Relations concerns.


Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in the development and delivery of management training programs designed to advance the labor relations skills of the Company.
  • May represent PharmaCann in arbitrations and Employment Relations Board hearings related to unfair labor practice complaints.
  • Provides a range of professional Employee Relations activities including but not limited to employee consulting, counsel and complaint investigation.
  • Advises on sensitive labor and employee relations matters, including grievance and arbitration procedures, performance issues and disciplinary actions; advises and assists managers and our Employee Relations department in identifying potential labor relations issues and determining the appropriate course of action.
  • Serves as a point of escalation for the Employee Services team in addressing Tier 2and Tier 3 issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of labor/union issues and best practices in order to promote positive labor relations.
  • Provide support to frontline and middle managers by reviewing and revising written corrective actions in union environments.
  • Provides advice and counsel to frontline supervisors and managers regarding Labor Relations issues.
  • Partners with the Director of HR regarding the Performance Management process and implementation.
  • Interacts with employees and designated union representatives to build positive rapport and foster a collegial and collaborative working environment


Qualifications

  • Ability to travel as required to complete job responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; detail-oriented and able to deliver quality work on deadlines.
  • Ability to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate information.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills and able to learn new systems; experience with G-Suite preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in conducting investigations, Employee Relations or Human Resources
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication to interact and engage with associates across multiple locations.
  • Prior experience in cannabis or another highly regulated industry, preferred.


Working conditions

This job operates in a professional environment and requires working in the field at established or future retail and production/manufacturing sites, as well as a corporate office environment.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and acquire applicable credentials in states where required to access company facilities.
  • Minimal travel, inclusive of overnight stays, air travel, and driving, up to 10%.


Physical requirements

  • Long periods of standing or sitting may be required. Lifting of packages up to 15 pounds may be required.
