Job Description
:

Cimarron is seeking Senior AutoCAD Electrical Designers to support the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) program at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The ML2 will be used, like the first mobile launcher, as the platform for assembling and testing the Space Launch System (SLS) in the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center, transporting the rocket to Launch Complex 39B, and supporting the vehicle’s launch. The platform includes various interfaces for fueling the rocket, providing power and data, and a crew access arm.

These positions are expected to last 4-8 months with the possibility of an extension. This opportunity offers a competitive salary and the opportunity for additional cash-in-lieu of benefits. This is a hybrid opportunity that will allow for some remote work (i.e. some days in the office, some days work from home).

Key Duties:

  • Ensure that the electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Create electrical physical designs (circuit and raceway).
  • Produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.
  • Ensure electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Interface with construction and subcontractors, as needed.
  • Be capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry-proven concepts and procedures.
  • Be responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and update, conduit, and aboveground raceway design.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Hands-on experience with raceway and electrical equipment layouts.
  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years of related design experience, or Associate degree and 3 or more years of related design experience.
  • Knowledge and application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
  • Ability to collaborate well with other disciplines.
  • Ability to work well with others and within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Proven electrical 2D CADD design skills.
  • Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
  • Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and the ability input and complete corrections to the database.
  • Experience with CREO design tools.
  • Experience with a 3D electrical model design platform.
  • Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
