WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Participate in quality improvement activities for the department.
• Oversee the use of EKG equipment ensuring safe operation.
• Ensure that all patients are calm and relaxed during the process allowing for quality test output.
• Prepare images and data in a preliminary report in designated reporting system such as cardiology PACS or EMR system prior to physician reading the study.
• Make appropriate accommodation to 12 lead EKG test such as perform right sided EKG for suspected right ventricular infarct.
• Administer cardiac stress testing for exercise and pharmacological stress testing.
• Apply cardiac rhythm monitoring equipment, Holter monitors/event monitors and ambulatory mobile telemery monitors.
• Monitor equipment throughout the test to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Identify and report critical results to providers.
• Explain the function and process of EKG exams to patients prior to the test.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) - . within 90 Days Required
• Certified EKG Technician - . Preferred
