Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical division is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager at our Nacogdoches, TX plant. Relocation assistance is available!


The expected annual salary range for this role is $116,250 - $170,500 a year.

What you’ll do:

As the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager at our Nacogdoches, TX site, you will direct all EHS activities and measure performance. You will ensure plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures, and systems are developed, implemented, and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation policies.


In this role, you will:

  • Develop/maintain all required written MESH and regulatory requirements, e.g., HazCom, BBP, Hearing Conservation, LO/TO, PPE Assessments etc.
  • Pursue third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class.
  • Maintain the compliance for the facility (EPA, OSHA etc.).
  • Improve Employee Engagement by actively partnering with all plant personnel on safety programs (e.g., Eyes Wide Open, Find It Fix It, Safety Observations, etc.).
  • Facilitate risk assessments to identify critical EHS hazards and work with our leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
  • Champion and lead projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our “Zero Incident Safety Culture” programs.
  • Assist our Operational Excellence engineering team with building and grounds capital projects, as required.
  • Review plant environmental permits and ensures terms and conditions are understood and complied with, ensures required documentation is maintained and required regulatory reports are submitted to the respective agency, e.g., air discharge permits, storm water discharge permits, local wastewater permits.
  • Partner with OPEX team and Operations to drive Continuous Improvement Framework including CI For Everyone.
  • Coordinate plant security and loss control efforts.
  • Partner with other functional support/engineering teams to ensure plant projects, changes, upgrades, and modifications adhere to and meet the PROLaunch and MESH “Change Management” processes.
  • Champion MESH program and work with plant leadership team to drive MESH Champions engagement.
  • Compile required safety performance metric data for the country specific injury/illness log and for reporting to government agencies and to Eaton performance metric measurement databases.
  • Support the implementation of all required Safety and Environmental training to employees.


Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in EHS in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing people and/or teams
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or Management, Environmental Science from an accredited institution
  • Experience in electrical assemblies or engineered to order business


Skills:

Position Criteria:
  • Computer Skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • IH, CSP and/or CHMM professional credential
  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
  • Thorough knowledge and training for Hazard Materials Handling and Emergency Response requirements
  • Ability to direct and lead cross functional process improvement tams
  • Thorough knowledge and training for EHS systems development and deployment. Knowledge of Worker's Compensation
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, State and Local laws and regulations
  • Detailed comprehension of industry/state/country specific environmental, health, and safety requirements
