Education Data Analyst (Esc)

The Education Data Services Office is responsible for the collection, quality, analysis and reporting of data submitted to the ESE by public school districts, educational collaboratives and private schools in the Commonwealth. The Education Data Services Office seeks a dynamic, data minded individual to perform the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze PK-12 data and indicators to inform Department of Elementary and Secondary Education policy decisions.

Produce data and reports for the legislature, governor’s office, media, school districts, and the general public.

Manage data files and prepare and submit required EDEN data to the U.S. Department of Education.

Prepare reports to present to external and internal stakeholders.

Respond to requests for information and data, both internal and external to ESE.

Perform other related duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with education statistics and education issues and policies.

Ability to prepare reports to present to external and internal stakeholders.

Advanced knowledge of office applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Familiarity with SPSS and other analytical software.

Experience working with Oracle/SQL is preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively with data and analysis reporting, data collection and accountability teams.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Ability to multi-task when faced with differing priorities.

Highly organized, with an attention to detail.

Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to research issues and work under tight deadlines.
