Ecu Staff Nurse Jobs

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine seeks a full-time, permanent staff nurse to work in the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic to provide direct patient care. The employee will act independently, be self-motivated, and have the ability to problem solve tactfully and diplomatically. Additionally, they will be self-directed and utilize critical thinking skills, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and be able to perform many tasks simultaneously. The position will be trained to administer TMS treatments in an outpatient clinic setting, under the direction of board-certified psychiatrists. This individual’s primary responsibility will be to administer and manage the specific clinical services, interact regularly with patients, and other clinical and office administrative tasks. These additional tasks will include, but are not limited to, providing services such as medication administration, including injections; assessing patient’s physical and mental status; record vital signs, height and weight; providing psycho-educational evaluations and collateral consultation; and consulting with other professionals, agencies, psychiatric and clinical staff as needed. The employee has to have the ability to follow established treatment and office procedures; explain and administer procedures to patients; monitor a patient for medical symptoms; provide medical intervention in an emergency situation; strong communication skills; contribute to a positive work environment; exercise professionalism and tact in dealing with patients, visitors and the public; maintain patient confidentiality; maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details.

Currently, hours of clinic operation are from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a rotating scheduled late day to accommodate patient care.
