ECU Health North Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 204-bed acute bed facility serving Halifax, Northampton and Warren counties in the north-central region of North Carolina. Its service area also reaches into southern Virginia. With more than 600 team members, the hospital offers a broad range of medical and surgical services. It features a 24-hour emergency department and offers advanced diagnostics as well as specialty and primary care.

ECU Health is now hiring experience nurese for 13 week assignments for the Travel Staffing team at ECU Health North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids North Carolina. Unit specific and float pool opportunities available for several inpatient units like Medical Step Down, Med/Surg, Emergency Room, ICU and many more.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher, BSN is preferred
  • Not currently employed by ECU Health or separated for 92 days, having left in good standing
  • Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands
  • Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification is required
  • Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships
  • ACLS as appropriate (required for intensive or progressive care)
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients
  • 1+ year of nursing experience is required
  • Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications

Other Information

Compensation package

  • Additional $2.00 per hour for Charge/preceptor pay
  • Base pay: up to $80 per hour for all travel nursing positions
  • Additional $3.00 per hour for Stand-by pay
  • 1.5x base hourly rate for overtime (over 40 hours), call-back and holiday pay
  • Shift bonus: up to an additional $140 per shift worked, based on distance from permanent residence

We are looking for experienced nurses to join the Travel Staffing team at ECU Health North Hospital, a 204 bed acute care hospital in Roanoke Rapids a charming community surrounded by the best that nature has to offer. Opportunities are available in all inpatient units based on need- Medicine, Emergency, Critical Care, Surgery, Operative Services, Women's & Children's, and Progressive Care (PCU).

Travel Staffing positions are not eligible for health benefits, shifts or weekend differentials, incentive pay, PTO or float pool differentials.

Additonal position details

  • Organizational policies will be applicable to internal travel team members, notwithstanding Internal Travel Staffing Program specifications included within each assignment acknowledgement
  • Rotate shifts to meet department needs as determined by the Manager (may include 11 a.m.-11 p.m., 7 a.m.-7 p.m., 3 p.m.-3 a.m., 7 p.m.-7 a.m. and/or other shifts as determined by organizational needs)
  • Use the scheduling system to manage their schedule, including non-duty/time-off requests
  • Travel team members are expected to:
    • Float to other areas as needed
    • Rotate shifts to meet department needs as determined by the Manager (may include 11 a.m.-11 p.m., 7 a.m.-7 p.m., 3 p.m.-3 a.m., 7 p.m.-7 a.m. and/or other shifts as determined by organizational needs)
    • Adhere to required attendance of unit staff meetings, completion of e-inform modules, and completion of required organizational continuing education
    • Use the scheduling system to manage their schedule, including non-duty/time-off requests
  • Adhere to required attendance of unit staff meetings, completion of e-inform modules, and completion of required organizational continuing education
  • 13-week assignments with option to extend at the discretion of manager
  • Float to other areas as needed
