Division Controller (Relo$$) Jobs

Top 10 homebuilder is seeking a Division Controller to serve as a key member of the Finance and Land Development Team, responsible for ensuring that accounting reporting systems and procedures follow established corporate and business unit policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting in the residential construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review trial balance reconciliations and direct the Accounting team to process adjustments as needed.
• Reviewweekly reports to ensure data accuracy for homes sold as compared to current financial plan.
• Review business unit's monthly financial statements for actual vs. budgeted results.
• Owns weekly update of contracts, starts, and deliveries reporting, narratives, and data integrity.
• Prepare, maintain, and evaluate various general ledger accounts and reports.
• Review business unit's budgets and participate in division, group, and Land Committee white book reviews.
• Explain variances and incorporate changes needed for monthly call future projections.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from a four-year college or university.
• 5+ years of accounting manager experience, preferably in real estate residential accounting for a large, national homebuilder.
• CPA, MBA preferred, but not required.
• Supervisory experience.
• Budgeting experience.
