Salary:$79,622- $115,232 / DOQ

General Description:

The purpose of this job within the organization is to manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Division. This division includes the supervision of accounting and reporting functions of the City’s payroll and accounts payable processes.The position is visible throughout the organization and communicates directly with all City Department Heads and Division leads in the City. The Controller also creates processes, ensures internal controls are effective, and prepares various reports including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. This job works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

Minimum Training and Experience:

Requires amaster’s degreein business, finance, accounting, or related field, supplemented by six years in division management and in supporting City Management/Council or closely related experience.The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Finance Officer, or Certified Public Finance Officer credential strongly preferred.
