Director of Treasury Management
Position Overview
Shaw is looking for a Director of Global Treasury, reporting directly to the CFO. This position is located at Shaw’s global headquarters in Dalton, GA (near Chattanooga and a little over an hour from Atlanta). In this role you will be responsible for the overall strategic vision as well as the day-to-day operations of the treasury function, including managing cash and debt positions, addressing financial risks, managing bank and financial services provider relationships, updating and implementing global policies, and enhancing processes and technology platforms.
You will partner with key stakeholders from Tax, Accounting, Legal, IT and others to optimize banking operations, enhance cash flow forecast and visibility, ensure the appropriate capital structure, and support global growth. You will manage relationships with banks and financial service providers and be an advisor to executive leadership on strategic transactions.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage treasury manager and global travel manager, developing department objectives and personal growth plans in line with global strategy
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial service providers for lines of credit, receivables, payables, foreign exchange, credit cards, leasing, supply chain finance and trade services
  • Manage inter-company cash including inter-company lending, dividends and capital injections; develop repatriation strategies for excess cash
  • Manage global travel program, including relationships with Travel Management Company and other travel services providers
  • Manage debt interest and principal payments; manage and report on lines of credit usage and available capacity; forecast global interest expense and income
  • Complete special projects as assigned for presentation to senior management
  • Manage the company’s cash flow to ensure there are sufficient funds to conduct daily activities, meet financial obligations and support business growth; oversee daily cash forecast, cash position reconciliation and bank reporting
  • Assess overall risk around cash management, payment processing, banking systems, and funding processes; develop and implement the overall strategy to mitigate risks and optimize opportunities
  • Support global expansion and establishment of new entities worldwide; collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain subsidiaries’ capital structures consistent with business, tax and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and enforce strong internal controls and financial management policies; enhance processes to drive operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with SOX controls
  • Rationalize the banking structure of the company to optimize liquidity and reduce fees
  • Oversee trade finance activities, including issuance of letters of credit and bank guarantees and Supply Chain Finance programs
  • Oversee foreign currency risk management; implement hedging programs to mitigate risks
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Experience managing foreign currency risk
  • Demonstrated high integrity and ethics
  • Experience managing global travel program preferred
  • Ability to lead projects and work effectively across functions at all levels within the organization
  • Sharp attention to detail
  • An inquisitive mentality with a willingness to question assumptions and conventional wisdom
  • Knowledge of accounting principles related to Treasury activities
  • 12+ years of experience in global treasury operations with a track record of increased responsibilities
  • Analytical and financial analysis skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; consistent record of mentoring and developing talent
EDUCATION
  • MBA or advanced degree in related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or finance required
