Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually
Total Compensation range with a bonus: $132,000 - $154,000

The Director of Tax will be responsible for the Company’s corporate income tax compliance as well as all indirect tax (sales and use) and property tax. The Director of Tax will work with service providers and directly ensure the accuracy and completion of all tax filings and compliance with applicable tax laws and US GAAP standards related to tax. The position includes engagement with operational staff, including project accountants, project directors, and our billing team, to drive education and compliance with local tax laws in the states where we operate.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain tax calendar and manage deadlines on all filing and payment requirements.
• Develop and implement process improvements and internal controls in the filing and payment of indirect taxes.
• Ensure timely preparation, filing, and payment of property taxes and indirect tax (sales and use) regulatory returns.
• Identify tax risk areas and work with other functional areas to ensure appropriate steps are taken to minimize tax risk.
• Responsible for the preparation of all tax-related general ledger journal entries and reconciliations.
• Implement existing, new, or changing tax laws in systems and procedures for accurate billing or self-assessment of indirect taxes.
• Coordination with external tax advisors.
• Responsible for preparation and/or review/or Coordination of income tax provisions and federal and state income tax returns.
• Coordinate all tax-related audits or inquiries and notices (IRS, State Tax Authorities, etc.).
• Monitor and stay current on applicable tax legislation.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• This role has no direct reports but will be responsible for engaging, coordinating, and overseeing external tax advisors and consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong accounting, analytical, tax technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or other relevant areas is preferred, Masters in Tax is a plus.
• Previous experience within the construction industry is a plus.
• 8+ years in a similar role with a mix of public accounting and in-house tax department experience preferred.
• Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, and working proactively.
• Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
• CPA Preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of management.
