Job Details


The Supply Chain Director oversees the strategic objectives of the supply chain function through assessment, planning, and execution. They possess deep expertise in supply chain operations, planning, analytics, logistics, distribution, ERP systems, data mining, and modeling. This role manages the Ontario supply and demand planning, materials management, warehouse, transportation, and customer service. The Director is responsible for optimizing inventory levels, coordinating supply chain performance, leading a team of professionals, and ensuring customer objectives are met.


Key Responsibilities


Own the Ontario Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.


Manage planning, inventory control, and collaborate with Commercial stakeholders on forecasting.


Optimize Ontario inventory to meet customer service, business continuity, and cost goals across the distribution network.


Coordinate supply chain product availability and performance, collaborating with relevant functional areas.


Lead a team responsible for planning, material management, transportation, warehouse, and customer service.


Set local inventory and planning policies, objectives, and goals aligned with customer requirements.


Facilitate communication and resolve supply and demand issues across functions.


Develop inventory management policies and implement working models to drive solutions.


Manage product status and accurately track supply chain processes in Ontario to meet customer orders.


Develop process maps, optimize cycle times, and increase inventory velocity.


Establish and achieve Ontario inventory velocity targets, including Days on Hand (DOH), inventory turns, and inventory value.


Manage global scrap, slow-moving and obsolete (SLOB) inventory, accuracy, and other inventory KPIs.


Develop and report on additional metrics such as forecast accuracy and S&OP cycle adherence.


Ensure on-time and complete shipments to customers, focusing on delivery performance and perfect order fulfillment.


Other Duties And Responsibilities


Develop and maintain department budget.


Communicate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to promptly resolve issues.


Assist in staff development, including cGMP training, technical skills, and safety.


Identify and address technical, procedural, and equipment issues affecting production and compliance.


Identify deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions.


Review and recommend changes to cGMP documentation, safety policies, practices, and procedures.


Education and Experience


10+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, and distribution.


Experience in customer interaction and managing customer service.


5+ years of supervisory roles.


Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; master's degree preferred.


Demonstrated cross-functional engagement and collaboration skills.


Knowledge of material planning principles and experience with MRP processes and systems.


Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications.


Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma principles.


APICS certification is a plus.
