Director Of Supply Chain

Our client, a leading organic foods company, is currently recruiting a Director of Supply Chain who will infuse the Supply Chain Team with their talent, energy and leadership skills. 1) Plan, organize, direct and control activities related to procurement for the company’s core business and retail hospitality business, procurement responsibilities related to dry goods, packaging and ingredients

2) Organize and coordinate activities that involve delivery, transportation of dry goods and perishables supplies for the company’s retail and hospitality business

3) Ensure and manage supplier approval process, review and analyze risk factors

4) Develop a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilize appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery and service

5) Design, implement, manage and monitor procurement and logistics reporting systems to meet company requirements

6) Recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high-quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct

7) Work with third-party agencies to support and drive distribution plans for the company’s retail hospitality channel

8) Identify any supply interruptions and drive solutions for those by working with suppliers and third-party distributors to ensure continuity of supply

9) Participate in company management meetings to drive established objectives and partner cross-functionally

10) Ensure favorable costing that conforms to company-established KPIs

11) Establish and prepare instructions regarding purchasing systems and distribution procedures

12) Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy

13) Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price and acceptability of items to specifications

14) Negotiate or supervise the negotiation of complex requests for products and services from suppliers and subcontractors to reduce costs

15) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the organic foods industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in supply chain management
