Job Description
Essential Functions
Coordinates service, efficiency, and operations of the housekeeping, bell/valet, and guest services/front desk departments.
Provides quality services, which assist in merchandising the hotel.
Promotes hotel facilities, services and food and beverage outlets through crafted training initiatives.
Participates in the preparation, production, and promotion of seasonal programs and packages.
Understands and utilizes divisional and departmental budget, and profit and loss statements. Works with counterparts in Food and Beverage to ensure hotel-wide success financially.
Participates in and is held accountable for, departmental financial planning.
Attends appropriate meetings and training seminars.
Schedules and participates in daily stand-ups, departmental meetings, and staff meetings.
Approves weekly schedules in line with occupancy and mix of business.
Ensures adherence to company cash-handling policies and other financial procedures as they relate to the Rooms Departments.
Inspects the general cleanliness, appearance and functionality of public areas including temperature, lighting, and music.
Works with Engineering and Housekeeping to maintain clean and smooth functioning operations in all spaces of the hotel, from guestrooms to public space, including back-of-house areas.
Ensures that all guest-facing information is accurate, timely, presentable, and meets Marriott and AAH brand standards.
Participates in community and association activities to promote good public relations with businesses and individuals in the surrounding area.
Promotes teamwork and cooperation among Guest Services, Front Office, Housekeeping staff and other departments.
Follows new-hire and training procedures, and supports ongoing training initiatives in accordance with company standards.
Interviews, trains, praises, coaches, counsels, and disciplines according to company handbook and policies.
Notifies appropriate individuals of any problems or unusual matters of significance.
Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, employees, and vendors.
Complies with hotel standards, polices, and emergency procedures.
Remains current on hotel information and changes.
Participates in Manager on Duty Program.

Qualification Standards
Education: High School Degree or equivalent
Experience: At least three years’ management experience in Guest Services and/or Housekeeping. Demonstrated ability in staff training and problem solving using small groups. Ability to effectively communicate ideas both orally and in writing between various levels of staff, both internal and external. Adaptable to travel and schedule changes. Excellent organizational skills.
Computer: Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams. Adaptable experience in property management systems.
