Job Description

The Company

Our client is a portfolio company of an international investment firm and focuses on developing, constructing, owning and operating sustainable, large-scale infrastructure assets throughout the United States. They have over 10 GW of solar power and energy storage projects that they are actively developing in an effort to accelerate the energy transition.


The Role

Our client seeks a Director of Procurement to negotiate agreements with large clean energy suppliers. The right candidate will be able to excel individually and in a leadership role, be highly organized, as well as have excellent communication and influencing capabilities. The candidate should also have a passion for renewable energy and mitigating climate change.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support with acquiring assets related to development as needed
  • Oversee Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) firm request for proposal process
  • Ensure that supplier databases are properly maintained and have all essential information, including items like status updates
  • Manage EPC data, review and compare proposals, select vendors, and negotiate agreements
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Research new clean energy technology
  • Negotiate agreements such as supply contracts, logistics contracts and purchase orders
  • Provide research and analysis support to EPC teams
  • Support the finance and marketing teams
  • Communicate with in-house and external attorneys during agreement negotiations
  • Create, assess and manage current and new logistics and equipment suppliers
  • Manage process for approving and moving forward with agreements related to funding


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ability to excel in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to travel up to twenty percent
  • Experience handling procurement agreements within the utility-scale solar and energy storage space
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrable ability to develop cohesive partnerships
  • Ability to work in the office two to three days a week
  • Strong presentation capabilities
  • Strong ability to problem solve
