Job Description

Position Summary: The Director of Procurement is a critical position to the success of the company. This position will oversee 1 employee of the Procurement team and will collaborates closely with all Plant personnel on a daily basis. Process daily replenishment orders for all Plants to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained. Extensive communication with Customer Service, Plant General Managers, Maintenance, Warehouse receiving, Suppliers and Accounts Payable, to achieve superior customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Work and communicate directly with Customer Service and be their secondary liaison for communication and assistance.
  • Monitors the receipt of goods for timeliness and accuracy of product received.
  • Expedites all deliveries with suppliers to avoid shortages.
  • Assist in the resolution of all product conflicts for plants and suppliers.
  • Develop purchasing strategy for products considering market fluctuations.
  • Process all purchase requests in a timely manner and operates in "just in time" ordering practice.
  • Responsible for the costing confirmation of assigned items on each order and confirming agreement with supplier.
  • Works with suppliers on product availability, costing, and all other applicable factors.
  • Works with Plants and customer service to manage unavoidable shortages.
  • Participate when requested for supplier specific meetings and projects.
  • Track and manage company cellphone program.
  • Approve replenishment purchase requisitions utilizing Company ERP system.

Work Environment:

  • Must be comfortable and confident with basic computer and phone skills.
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and communicate effectively in order to meet all internal and external customer needs.
  • Fast paced working environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge working in an ERP system a plus.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, word, and excel.
  • Ability to plan and organize.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude while proactively resolving daily situations.
  • Disciplined self-starter.
  • EXCELLENT communication and time management skills.
  • Associate Degree and/or five plus years of prior Purchasing experience.
  • Strong analytical and math skills.
