Director Of Orchestral Activities (Adjunct)

The University of St. Francis, a Catholic, Franciscan institution in Joliet, Illinois, invites applications for an adjunct Director of Orchestral Activities to serve as artistic director and conductor of the Joliet Symphony Orchestra beginning August 2023. The Director will conduct and manage all facets of the Joliet Symphony Orchestra, a college-community orchestra, including programming, recruitment, rehearsals, personnel, equipment, library, publicity, outreach, etc. The successful candidate will understand the pedagogical and interpersonal needs of a college-community orchestra and apply those skills in the rehearsal setting. The Director will be expected to engage in outreach and recruiting activities for the orchestra and university and to take an active role in department activities.
