Job Description
ThinkCyte is a startup company that developed a disruptive new technology named Ghost Cytometry (GC) which combines high-speed imaging and machine learning to analyze and sort target cells based on morphological and imaging phenotypes in high-throughput mode by flow. The cutting-edge flow cytometry instruments integrating GC technology empower researchers and professionals to advance scientific discovery and improve healthcare outcomes.

With our ideal location in the heart of Silicon Valley, we are surrounded by leading biopharma companies, prospective biotech startups, and world-class research institutions, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.


We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Operations / Operations Manager, who will play a critical role in driving and optimizing operational functions, including manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and other operational functions, with cross-functional teams and external partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership, strategic thinking, day-to-day hands-on experience in operational functions, and management skills in the life science industry to deliver results and ensure the smooth functioning of the organization.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to drive operational excellence and streamline processes in line with the company's goals and objectives
  • Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective execution of operational plans, including setting performance goals, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to senior management on operational performance, risks, and opportunities
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement to achieve operational success.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to measure performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, forecast resource requirements, and optimize resource allocation to achieve operational goals.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements to optimize operational efficiencies, reduce costs, and enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and guidelines, and maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including R&D, business development, sales, and external partners, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of operations across the organization.
  • Lead and oversee the management of the supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services.
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day operations, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and other operational functions
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Qualifications:


  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of operational management principles and practices, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and supply chain management
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams and CMO/supply chain partners, with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices in the life science industry.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in day-to-day operations in the life science industry, including instrumentation and consumables management in manufacturing, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity in conducting business.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work collaboratively in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and implement process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to drive operational excellence.
  • Salary is determined based on experience level of candidate
  • Proficient in using relevant software and tools for inventory management, data analysis, reporting, and project management
