Job Summary

The Director of Operations is responsible for the execution of the operations plan, providing leadership over operations, auditing and all operational policies and procedures for Underwriting, Operations and Claims to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other directors and executive Leadership.
• Develop and refine operational policies and procedures in support of underwriting, risk engineering and policy issuance.
• Ensure even distribution of workload and sufficient staffing capabilities in the Operations staff.
• Provide appropriate support and leadership to the Operations team.
• Establish and ensure all customer service benchmarks are met.
• Develop and assist Operations, Claims and Underwriting teams to find ways to continuously improve operationally.
• Manage development and training of staff as needed for their career development.
• Establish an audit plan.
• Drive the development and day to day execution of management reports to be used to track service relevant standards.
• Audit files and provide regular feedback to management per the audit plan.
• Once established, ensure compliance with the audit plan.
• Conduct any additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience, preferably managing both exempt and non-exempt personnel.
• Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs and an aptitude to learn new programs.
• Experience in claims operations is a plus.
• Prior audit experience is a plus.

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
