MERIT is hiring for a Director of Creative Services to own operational excellence of the Creative team. Reporting to the Creative Director, you'll plan, organize, and communicate all activities and goals of the Creative team, ensuring communication flows and processes are efficient and streamlined, and the team is thoroughly organized and prepared to executive on creative work and shoots.


This role requires strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, effective project management and prioritization skills, and a deep understanding of the creative process to ultimately deliver high quality creative work that aligns with the organization's goals and brand vision.


Responsibilities:


  • Be responsible for creative subscriptions and creative vendors; understand team needs and propose best options
  • Manage day to day workflows, short and long term roadmaps for the creative team; delegate tasks and map out budgets and timelines
  • Remain current on industry trends and practices
  • Prioritize creative projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Oversee and manage the creative process and workflows from creative brief submission to release of digital assets; continuously monitor projects status to effectively meet creative deadlines
  • Create, iterate on and reinforce creative workflows and frameworks to increase efficiencies within team communication and the creative development process
  • Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the creative team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Develop and manage the creative department's budget
  • Oversee and manage the development and review of all creative production for all shoots; Attend shoots where necessary (travel up to 20% as needed)
  • Oversee and maintain relationships with external agencies and freelancers; manage the onboarding and contract process
  • Identify and solve critical project issues such as: budget constraints, project delays, talent sourcing
  • Partner closely with Marketing and Creative Director to ensure deliverables for projects are met


Requirements:


  • Prior experience reviewing and negotiating contracts with talent agencies, photographers, and freelancers
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Prior experience developing and leading small creative teams
  • Heightened attention to detail and organizational skills
  • A thorough understanding of the integrated creative development process: planning, creative production, delivery, and post-project retrospectives
  • A prior record of operating with and making decisions using good judgement
  • 6+ years of creative project management and creative production experience at an agency or in-house brand
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate effective relationships with both internal and external teams and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of creative programs and project management tools, like Adobe Creative Cloud and Monday.com
  • A prior record of creating and streamlining effective creative workflows that align to team needs and business objectives


We are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package in addition to salary compensation. The annual salary range for this role is $135,000 - $140,000 in addition to bonus potential, stock options, a 401(k) match, health benefits, paid time off and more. The final salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the individual's experience and qualifications.
