How You Will Make An Impact
Frida is looking for a Director of Consumables Sourcing to join our operations team based in Miami, FL. Reporting to the Senior Director of Sourcing, the selected candidate will lead the process of finding the ideal products and partners to drive our growth. The Director will build and maintain relationships with suppliers, evaluate manufacturing partners to ensure alignment with overall consumables sourcing strategy, and negotiate costs and other key business terms.
Responsibilities To Include

• Execute on company’s strategic business objectives regarding consumable supply base optimization
• Manage product transition between suppliers on targeted supply base optimization initiatives
• Enhance relationships with key business partners in consumable product lines to help ensure on time delivery, quality standards are being met, and identify opportunities to improve pricing and terms
• Manage long term demand and capacity planning to ensure supply continuity long term
• Ensure the ideal fit between product + supplier to manufacture a premium product that delivers on consumer needs as well as business results Lead negotiations with new and existing suppliers to negotiate product COGS and other key terms utilizing cost modeling when appropriate to drive to correct costs
• Develop supplier scorecard, monitor supplier performance against target KPIs, ensure all feedback received from business units are properly addressed, and maintain supplier performance database
• Understand international business fundamentals such as duty, tariffs, VAT, freight and logistics trends to inform ideal geographies for formulated product sourcing
• Lead team of formulated sourcing personnel to manage new product sourcing, cost down initiatives, and supplier re-alignment
• Own tracking of macroeconomic themes to inform and influence sourcing decisions including supplier alignment, commodity hedging, forward buys, etc
• Work closely with Supply Chain Director to develop vertically managed supply chains for consumable product lines
• Plan and schedule pre-award meetings and coordinate evaluation process with relevant internal departments
• Prepare RFQs, manage the quoting process, collect, consolidate and analyze quotations, build potential scenarios, and make an informed recommendation that aligns with company objectives
• Develop sources for consumable product lines that offer the company the edge needed to succeed in terms of price, quality efficacy, and safety
• 10 – 20% travel required to visit potential new and existing suppliers
• Develop deep understanding of supply base beyond primary tier to secondary, tertiary suppliers and beyond to understand compliance, risk, and cost structures and optimize where possible

What You Will Need

• Experience dealing with formulated suppliers in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States
• The disposition to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail and quality
• Energetic, positive team player attitude ready for the demands of a high energy, fast-paced company environment with a no-task-too-small work ethic
• Experience as lead negotiator with proven performance
• Experience handling requests for information, quotations, proposals and bidding processes, as well as social compliance audits, as well as quality and capabilities audits
• 6 years managing and sourcing global suppliers with proven success in locating and developing suppliers with world class capabilities in formulated development
• A sense of urgency to quickly, decisively, and efficiently resolve business issues
• Understanding of / experience in working with commodities (raw materials, plastics, resins)
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong in all Microsoft Office solutions, especially Microsoft Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or chemistry
• The ability to build strong and trusting cross-functional relationships
• Knowledge of different manufacturing techniques with working knowledge of materials, components and formulations
• Basic knowledge of Lean manufacturing best practices
• Knowledge of global sourcing platforms + resources

Frida HQ is located in Miami, Florida and approved roles have the flexible option to work remotely both Mondays and Fridays with the benefit of connecting in person Tuesdays - Thursdays.
