About the position. The Director, Construction Services oversees all aspects of the Company’s facility construction activities, including complex infrastructure, pre-construction, and construction projects, to ensure the work is performed in conformance with the Company’s construction standards and specific project objectives and requirements. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead, along with Purchasing, the procurement strategy and execution for all construction commodities and services
  • Establish facility construction strategic priorities, key performance indicators, and business reporting to ensure efficiency, performance, and cost effectiveness
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Operating and Project Management, key business partners / suppliers, and internal support operations (Real Estate, Legal, IT, Finance, Procurement, and Business Development)
  • Establishes standards for quality, production; ensures compliance with company specs, policies, safety codes and other pertinent regulations.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within the set budget, schedule, and conformance with design documents.
  • Develop/evolve and formalize construction department standards, processes, and procedures to continuously improve the construction delivery model.
  • Possess and display high construction technical acumen and knowledge and continuously look for teaching opportunities with construction team and operating personnel
  • Develop and lead a team of internal construction managers to successfully deliver complex projects within a dynamic environment.


What you need. To be a hero in this organization, the Director, Construction Services will have:

  • 5 years of people leadership experience
  • Strong presentation and negotiating skills
  • Ability to review construction bid packages and make recommendations on awards.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards and other project-related activities, their interfaces, and interdependencies.
  • PMP or PE registration or LEED Accreditation or similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret design plans
  • Ability to prepare detailed, accurate timely project reports including work schedules, implementations, deviations, change in subcontractors, customer issues and other related problems.
  • Knowledge of CPM scheduling practices and familiarity with Primavera P6 or MS Project or Smartsheet’s.
  • Experience with LEED and/or Wellness projects and Alternative energy projects
  • Knowledge of IBC codes.
  • Experience in managing a construction budget of $100+ million
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline and/or combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of the budget process.
  • 15-years of progressive experience as a Sr. Construction Manager in design management or engineering role within the commercial/Industrial construction Industry
