Director of Clinical Informatics

Truveta was born in the Pacific Northwest, but we have employees who live across the country. Our team enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid model and working from anywhere. In person attendance is required for two weeks during the year for Truveta Planning Weeks.

For overall team productivity, we optimize meeting hours in the pacific time zone. We avoid scheduling recurring meetings that start after 3pm PT, however, ad hoc meetings occur between 8am-6pm Pacific time.

This Opportunity

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Informaticist (CI) to join our growing team. A successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating value from the vast amount of healthcare data provided by Truveta's partnering health systems, ensuring that it is clean, complete, and easy to work with. Be prepared to leverage your clinical experience, knowledge of healthcare workflows, expertise in healthcare data standards, and ability to problem-solve difficult real world interoperability issues to make a meaningful impact on our customers, platform, and overall mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and guide customers on how to use and interpret data in the Truveta platform, tailoring your support based on their specific needs and requirements.
  • Define and implement normalization processes of data from structured and unstructured formats to ensure that they are represented in a standard and comparable format.
  • Stay up-to-date with standards, industry trends and changes, proactively identifying opportunities to improve data quality and deliver outstanding products that will empower clinical researchers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineers, researchers, product managers) to deliver continuous improvements in the data pipeline process.
  • Define and maintain the Truveta Data Model according to industry standards and real-world healthcare data, ensuring that all data is accurate, consistent, and intuitive.
  • Write comprehensive documentation, including user guides, articles, and other artifacts to enhance understanding of the data and its implications.

Requirements

  • Self-starter attitude with a willingness to take initiative and continuously drive improvements.
  • 5 plus years experience with same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information systems within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the capacity to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience in clinical informatics, health information technology, or a similar field.
  • Medical Doctor degree (M.D.) or equivalent healthcare education and experience with hospital workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively manage and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with common data analysis tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • Proficient understanding of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED, RxNorm) and technology.

  • The base pay for this position is $202,000 to $251,000. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional compensation such as incentive pay and stock options.
